 Rivne Regional Diagnostic Center was set up by the decree of the Health Ministry of Ukraine No. 110 dated 28 June 1991 and by the Resolution of the Rivne Regional Executive Committee No. 190 dated 2 October 1991.
From the establishment day till May 1998 the Center has been headed by the Professor Viktor Polishchuk, MD. Afterwards the position of the Chief Doctor was committed to Igor Shumlianskyi, MD, Assistant Professor.
In December1997 Rivne Regional Diagnostic Center was given the status of clinical medical and preventive treatment facility, performing diagnostic, treatment, research, academic, informational and publishing activities.
By the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 298 dated 14 February 2000, the establishment was renamed into the Viktor Polishchuk Rivne Regional Clinical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Center.
The Diagnostic Center today means 14 up-to-date diagnostics and treatment units comprising 650 employees inluding 5 Candidates of Medical Science, 3 Merited Doctors of Ukraine, 1 Merited Public Health Officer, more than half of the doctors and over one third of nurses have higher qualification categories.
The doctors of the Center are among the Chief Not-on-the-Stuff Specialists of the Rivne Regional Health Care Administration, particularly the Chief Diagnostics Specialist, the Chief Specialist for Reproductive Health, the Chief Specialist for Genetics, the Chief Specialist for Ultrasound Diagnostics, the Chief Specialist for Prenatal Ultrasound Diagnostics.

Main Objectives of the Center

  • Providing highly quality diagnostics and treatment for the population of the region, and first of all to those affected by the Chornobyl disaster;
  • Providing comprehensive examinations of the patients and pre-admission diagnostics of diseases using modern medical equipment and advanced computer technologies;
  • Creating referral database on the patients; coordinating the activities and improvement of diagnostic services, as well as and ensuring the diagnostic and treatment services are available in medical and preventive facilities of the region.
  • Continuous and efficient use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Practical implementation of advanced techniques and medical scientific achievements, performing invasive sampling and treatment manipulations using sophisticated equipment
  • Training and raising the qualification level of staff members aimed at using modern computer and diagnostic equipment.
  • Participation in domestic and international research programs
